Council had considered this item earlier in the meeting. 19. Council considered approving a permit from the Houston Port Authority to install utilities on Houston Port Authority property. Motion was made_by Councilperson Walker to approve the permit from the Houston Port Authority,, in the amount of $6,787.50,, to install utilities on their property. Second by Councilperson Waters. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Walker, Lloyd, Matuszak, Waters, Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Malone Nays: None 20. Workshop Items A. Council discussed an ordinance regarding street and alley closings. After discussion, ID.otion was made by Councilperson ]dalker to charge 50X of the appraised value for street and allev closings. Second by Councilperson Westergren. Councilperson Skelton requested that this item be tagged to ~he_next workshoF meeting, therefore, no vote was taken. B. Council discussed bids for a trailer mounted man-lift. After discussion, Councilperson ~T~~~er requested that this item be tagged to the next regular meeting in order to find h-ow much the City has spent in the past year in maintenance costs on traffic signals. C. The proposed redistricting maps were presented. Mayor Malone introduced members of the Redistricting Committee who were in the audience. Andy Wilson, chairman of the Redistricting Committee, gave a synopsis of how the Committee arrived at their conclusions in drawing up the redistricting maps. He presented several maps for Council's study. 21. Council was to consider awarding a bid for trailer mounted man-lift, but this item had been tagged under item B of the Workshop items.
