Council had considered this item earlier in the meeting. <br />19. Council considered approving a permit from the Houston Port <br />Authority to install utilities on Houston Port Authority <br />property. <br />Motion was made_by Councilperson Walker to approve the permit <br />from the Houston Port Authority,, in the amount of $6,787.50,, <br />to install utilities on their property. Second by <br />Councilperson Waters. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Walker, Lloyd, Matuszak, Waters, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />20. Workshop Items <br />A. Council discussed an ordinance regarding street and alley <br />closings. After discussion, ID.otion was made by Councilperson <br />]dalker to charge 50X of the appraised value for street and <br />allev closings. Second by Councilperson Westergren. <br />Councilperson Skelton requested that this item be tagged to <br />~he_next workshoF meeting, therefore, no vote was taken. <br />B. Council discussed bids for a trailer mounted man-lift. <br />After discussion, Councilperson ~T~~~er requested that this <br />item be tagged to the next regular meeting in order to find <br />h-ow much the City has spent in the past year in maintenance <br />costs on traffic signals. <br />C. The proposed redistricting maps were presented. Mayor <br />Malone introduced members of the Redistricting Committee who <br />were in the audience. Andy Wilson, chairman of the <br />Redistricting Committee, gave a synopsis of how the Committee <br />arrived at their conclusions in drawing up the redistricting <br />maps. He presented several maps for Council's study. <br />21. Council was to consider awarding a bid for trailer mounted <br />man-lift, but this item had been tagged under item B of the <br />Workshop items. <br />
