Council considered the following consent agenda: <br /> <br />A. Consider awarding bid for crushed limestone <br />B. Consider awarding bid for aggregate for surface treatment <br />C. Consider awarding bid for reinforced concrete pipe and <br />miscellaneous supplies <br />D. Consider awarding bid for PVC pipe, fittings, gate valves <br />and fire hydrants <br />E. Consider awarding bid for asphalt materials <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Westergren to accept staff <br />recommendation and awar~ the bids on the consent agenda to the <br />low bidders meeting specifications. Second by Councilperson <br />Walker. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Walker, Matuszak, Waters, Pfeiffer, Gay, <br />Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />11. Workshop Items <br /> <br />A. Presentation of speed limit study and recommended speed <br />limits. <br /> <br />Jim Holls was present to answer questions from Council <br />regarding the speed limit study. <br /> <br />After discussion and questions from Council, Councilperson <br />Skelton suggested that this item be put on the agenda. <br />Councilperson Matuszak concurred. The speed limit ordinance <br />will be presented at the September 23 meeting. <br /> <br />B. Discuss and consider repealing residence service fee for <br />mobile homes. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 887-A - AN ORDINANCE <br />REPEALING SECTION 1420 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE, BY REPEALING THE RESIDENCE SERVICE FEE FOR MOBILE <br />HOMES; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Walker to adopt Ordinance <br />887-A as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Skelton. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Walker, Matuszak, Waters, Pfeiffer, Gay, <br />Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />
