Council considered approving the minutes of the emergency <br />called meeting held May 14, 1986. <br /> <br />Motion was made bY Councilperson Pfeiffer to approve the <br />minutes of the May 14 meeting as oresented. Second by <br />Councilperson Matuszak. The motion carried, 4 ayes, 0 nays, 1 <br />abstain (Councilperson Gay had not yet arrived). <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Lloyd, Matuszak, Pfeiffer and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilperson Porter (was not present at meeting of <br />May 14) <br /> <br />5. Mayor Malone presented an appreciation plaque to former <br />Councilperson Delbert Walker, for his service to the City <br />during his term of office. <br /> <br />6. Mr. Nathan Crawford addressed Council regarding theft of gas <br />and property at his residence. <br /> <br />Mrs. Adair Sullivan presented pictures showing front yard <br />fences to Council. <br /> <br />7. Council considered a resolution approving issuance of <br />Industrial Development Bonds to Dow Chemical Company. <br /> <br />The City Attorney explained the bond issue to Council. Mr. <br />Charles Van Metre addressed Council to explain the pollution <br />control project for which the bonds will be used. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 86-14 - A RESOLUTION OF <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE AGREEING TO THE <br />ISSUANCE OF BONDS BY THE BRAZOS HARBOR INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT <br />CORPORATION TO FINANCE A PROJECT FOR THE DOW CHEMICAL COMPANY <br /> <br />Motion was made bY Councilperson Matuszak to approve <br />Resolution 86-14. Second by Councilperson Lloyd. The motion <br />carried, 5 ayes and 0 nays (Councilperson Gay had not yet <br />arrived). <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, Pfeiffer and <br />Mayor Nalone <br />Nays: None <br />
