e e ORDINANCE NO. 1495 AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THAT PORTION OF MONTANA STREET BEINq AN EIGHTY (80') FOOT RIGHT-OF-vlAY, TOWN OF LA PORTE~ FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW~ AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has been requested by the record owners of all of the property abutting the hereinafter described portion of Montana Street being an eighty (80') foot right-of-way. Beginning at a point in the- South right-of-way line of "J" Street (Now known as Fairmont Parkway) ~ said point being the Northeast. corner of Block 1112~ thence South, along West right-of-way line of Montana Street. A distance of 216 feet to apoint for a corner~ said point being Southeast corner of Lot 14, Block 1112~ thence East, a distance of 80 feet to the East right-of-way line of Montana Street to apoint for a corner~ said point being Southwest corner of Lot 29, Block 1113~ thence North, along East right-of- way lines of Montana Street, a distance of 216 feet to the South right-of-way line of "J" Street for a corner~ said point being Northwest corner of Block 1113~ thence West, along South right-of-way line of "J" Street a distance of 80 feet t.O the point of beginning. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of La Porte has ,determined, and does hereby find, determine, and declare that "'- the hereinafter described portion, of. Mont.ana Street _ is not ,~ suitable, n'eeded,' or beneficial to the ~ubliq as a public road or street, and that the closing of t:he hereinafter described portion of Montana Street is for the protection of tpe. public and for the public interest and benefit, and that the hereinafter described portion of said Montana Street should be vacated, abandoned, and permanently closed~
