<br />. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Publie Hearings and Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Couneil <br />May 11, 1987, Page 2 <br /> <br />Mr. Lewis gave staff's recommendations on the buildings. It <br />is to table for 120 days the ordinance dealing with 701 <br />Nugent and to proceed with the process on the buildings <br />located at 202 West Fairmont Parkway and at 8423 Avington. <br /> <br />The Mayor asked for public input regarding the dangerous <br />building at 701 Nugent. Mr. Robert Allen addressed Council, <br />and stated that the reason he has not already started making <br />repairs is that he is recovering from cancer surgery and has <br />been unable to proceed. He stated he will begin repairs as <br />soon as permits can be obtained. <br /> <br />There was no other input regarding 701 Nugent. <br /> <br />The Mayor asked for input regarding 202 West Fairmont <br />Parkway. There was none. <br /> <br />The Mayor asked for input regarding 8423 Avington. Mr. Jim <br />Sproule addressed Council regarding the conditions of the <br />house and yard at 8423 Avington, and expressed his concern <br />for the potential health hazards and vandalism at that <br />location. He was in favor of the house being demolished. <br />Since the house is posted, he could not go on the property to <br />do any kind of cleaning up of the yard, etc., and it is <br />getting worse every day. <br /> <br />There being no further input, the Mayor declared the public <br />hearings closed. <br /> <br />4. Council considered approving the minutes of the public <br />hearings and regular meeting held April 27, 1987. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilperson Skelton to approve the April <br />27 meetings as presented. Seeond by Councilperson Waters. <br />The motion earried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. CCouncilpersons <br />Lloyd, Porter and Gay had not yet arrived.) <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Matuszak, Shipp, Skelton, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />
