<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />July 27, 1987, Page 3 <br /> <br />Council then considered item 6, as Neal Welch, the <br />representative from the Medical Fund, had arrived. <br /> <br />Mr. Welch addressed Council regarding the "Section 125 Plan", <br />a copy of which is attached to these minutes as back-up. <br /> <br />After Mr. Welch's presentation, motion was made by <br />Councilperson Skelton to aDprove implementing this plan in <br />Januarv of 1988. Second by Councilperson Matuszak. The <br />motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Matuszak, Porter, Gay, Skelton, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />8. Council considered approving Change Order #7 for Fairmont <br />Parkway relief trunk sewer contract. <br /> <br />After a presentation by Director of Public Works Steve <br />Gillett and questions from Council, motion was made bv <br />Councilperson Skelton to approve Change Order #7 with the <br />specification that the surfaces are properly cleaned with at <br />least a SSPC SP-6 or SP-10, which is a near-white blass, and <br />three mils of inorganic zinc, and 2 to S mils of epoxy <br />coating on top of it. Second by Councilperson Matuszak. <br /> <br />After discussion, motion was made by Councilperson <br />table this motion until more information regarding <br />original contract specifications can be received. <br />Councilperson Matuszak. The motion failed, 2 ayes <br />nays. <br /> <br />Skelton to <br />the <br />Second by <br />and 5 <br /> <br />Ayes: <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Skelton and Matuszak <br />Councilpersons Waters, Porter, Gay, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br /> <br />Discussion was continued and motion was made by Council person <br />Waters to approve Change Order #7. Second by Councilperson <br />Gay. The City Manager suggested that staff review this item <br />with Councilperson Skelton, and get information as to what is <br />needed to prolong the life of the piping and that if the <br />amount is reasonable within less than $1,000, authorize the <br />City Manager to enter into that contract; and if it is more <br />than $1,000, come back to Council. <br />
