The motion carried, 7 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Matuszak, Porter, Gay, Skelton, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />The vote was then taken on the amended motion and carried, 7 <br />ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Matuszak, Porter, Gay, Skelton, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />9. Council considered an ordinance approving settlement <br />agreements with FMC Corporation and Rohm and Haas Bayport, <br />Inc., protest to the City of La Porte's Sanitary Landfill <br />Application. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1553 - AN ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE OF A <br />SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT REGARDING MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL <br />SITE, WITH FMC CORPORATION AND ROHM AND HAAS BAYPORT, INC.; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING <br />FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made bY Councilperson Skelton to adopt Ordinance <br />1551 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Matuszak. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Matuszak, Porter, Gay, Skelton, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />10. Council was to consider a resolution for Port of Houston <br />Commission member. Action on this item was postponed until <br />after the resumption of the Executive Session. <br /> <br />11. Council considered a consent agenda: A. Consider awarding <br />bid for hazardous materials incident trailer, and <br />B. Consider awarding bid for commercial solid waste <br />containers. <br />
