Council considered an ordinance authorizing and approving the <br />closing of the alley in block 1142, lots 1-32, Town of <br />La Porte to facilitate planned development of the block. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE NO. 1557 - AN ORDINANCE <br />VACATING, ABANDONING, AND CLOSING THE ALLEY IN BLOCK ONE <br />THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY-THO (1142), IN THE TOWN OF <br />LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; FINDING COMPLIANCE HITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilperson Waters to authorize and <br />approve the clos ing of the alley in Block 1142, Lots 1- i2, <br />Town of La Porte. Counc il considered ordinance appointing members to the La <br />Porte Area Water Authority. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE NO. 1558 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPOINTING A DIRECTOR, POSITION 4, AND A DIRECTOR, POSITION <br />5, OF THE LA PORTE AREA WATER AUTHORITY, FOR A TERM TO EXPIRE <br />SEPTEMBER 1, 1989 ; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; FINDING <br />COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to approve Ordinance <br />No. 15S8 appointing members to the La Porte Area Water <br />Authority. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion <br />carried 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
