<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />CITY OF LA PORTE <br /> <br />INTER-OFFICE MEMORANDUM <br />SEPTEMBER 3, 1987 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Mayor & City c~uncil <br />Doug Latimer~1~irman, Planning & Zoning Commission <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Wayne Knox's application for Special Conditional Permit <br />for La Porte outlots 380, 361. <br />Application #87-003 <br /> <br />Mr. Knox has applied for a Special Conditional Use permit to allow <br />him to pasture horses on the above referenced 11.88 acre tract of <br />property. As there is presently no dwelling located on this site the <br />pasturing of livestock will be the primary property use. This use is <br />conditionally permitted in "R-1" zones. <br /> <br />The restrictions applying to this use are as follows: <br /> <br />(1) The tract to be used must be at least 1 acre. <br /> <br />(2) Pasture areas must be setback at least 25 ft. from any <br />adjoining property not used as pasture. <br /> <br />(3) Property can not be used for commercial boarding, exhibition <br />or sales of animals. <br /> <br />The Commission held a public hearing and considered this request <br />during the August 20,1987 meting. \'1e found Mr. Knox's property to <br />meet all requirements of the City's zoning ordinance. <br /> <br />The Planning & Zoning Commission recommends approval of this <br />Special Conditional Use permit subject to the following conditions: <br /> <br />(1) A maximum of 24 animals to be pastured at any time. <br />(2) Pasture areas must meet setbacks as required by the City's <br />zoning ordinance. <br />(3) All barns, stalls, and buildings must be properly permitted <br />and meet all required setbacks. <br />(4) All health and sanitation requirements of City ordinance <br />#1358 must be met. <br /> <br />DL/nb <br /> <br />xc: Joel Albrecht, Director of Community Development <br />David Paulissen, CBO/Zoning Administrator <br />
