If people are on vacation and their pet is picked up, they still have only 72 hours to pick up the animal or it will be destroyed. Even if a neighbor is keeping an eye on the animal, they might not know to go to the pound to get the animal. A lot of his constituents feel that their animals are just about as important as their children. He asked the Council to reconsider the ordinance and have another workshop session and study it more. 10. Council considered approving a special conditional use permit for Wayne Knox under Section 10-302(10) of Ordinance 1501, City of La Porte Zoning Ordinance. Motion was made bY Councilperson Waters to approve the special conditional use permit for Wayne Knox provided, however, there be included in the special conditional use permit there could be no commercial exhibition, or rodeos, or public showings for sale of horses conducted at this site. Second by Councilperson Shipp. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone Nays: None 11. Council considered approving a special conditional use permit for First Assembly of God Church under Section 6-600(F) of Ordinance 1501, City of La Porte Zoning Ordinance. Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton special conditional use permit for First Church. Second by Councilperson Waters. 7 ayes and 0 nays. to aoprove the Assembly of God The motion carried, Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone Nays: None
