Second by Councilperson Porter. The <br />motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Porter, Shipp, Gay, Skelton, Clarke <br />and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />8. Council considered a resolution supporting economic <br />development initiatives on the Plovember 3, 1987, General <br />Election Ballot. <br />The City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 87-19 - A RESOLUTION BY <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTS SUPPORTING <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMEPIT INITIATIVES ON THE NOVEMBER 3, 1987, <br />GENERAL ELECTION BALLOT. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to approve <br />Resolution 87-19. Second by Councilperson Gay. The motion <br />carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Porter, Shipp, Gay, Skelton, Clarke <br />and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />g. Council considered a contract for construction of Little <br />Cedar Bayou Park. <br />After a presentation by Director of Parks and Recreation <br />Stan Sherwood and comments by the City Manager, motion was <br />made b Council erson Skelton to re'ect all bids and re-bid <br />the proiect in smaller packages. Second by Councilperson <br />Gay. The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Porter, Shipp, Gay, SP<elton, Clarke <br />and Mayor P4alone <br />Plays : None <br />10. Council considered adoption of tax rate and considered <br />setting a public hearing date. <br />The City Manager addressed Council and stated that Staff <br />recommends a tax rate of 66 cents per X100 of valuation. <br />
