<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />October 26, 1987, Page 3 <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Lloyd, Porter, Shipp, Gay, Skelton, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />9. Council considered a resolution opposing H-GAC by-laws <br />amendment. <br /> <br />Councilperson Skelton addressed Council regarding this <br />item, and made one change to the resolution: the words <br />"two-thirds vote" in paragraph 5 was changed to read <br />"seventy-five percent (75%) vote." <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Counciloerson Skelton to aporove <br />Resolution 87-21 with the change in paragraoh 5. Second by <br />Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Lloyd, Porter, Shipp, Gay, Skelton, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Copies of the resolution will be sent to our area H-GAC <br />representatives and also to H-GAC home rule cities and the <br />Chairman of H-GAC. <br /> <br />10. Council was to consider approving an agreement with Berdon <br />Lawrence providing for improvements to City of La Porte <br />park facilities. <br /> <br />The City Manager reviewed the item and requested that no <br />action be taken at this time until a letter of approval <br />from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has been <br />received. <br /> <br />11. Council considered approving expenditure for providing <br />electricity for lighting and stormwater pumps in the golf <br />course tunnel. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Counciloerson Porter to approve the <br />exoenditure for these items. Second by Councilperson <br />Lloyd. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Lloyd, Porter, Shipp, Gay, Skelton, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />
