<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />November 23, 1987, Page 8 <br /> <br />breakdown on restoration, and expenditure and profit <br />report, steps needed to become truly a Convention Center <br />and related costs, marketing ideas, etc. Mr. Sherwood was <br />proud to report that the Pavilion is operating in the black <br />at this time. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of the report, Mr. Sherwood announced <br />that staff would like to place a bronze plaque at Sylvan <br />Beach Convention Center, and asked input from Council as to <br />the wording they would like to see on the plaque. He asked <br />for written comments from the Council. <br /> <br />Councilperson Lloyd proposed a workshop in January to look <br />at marketing ideas and rental rates (including off-peak <br />hours). Councilperson Matuszak proposed that we also look <br />into energy-efficient improvements as we develop the <br />Convention Center. Councilperson Porter added that he <br />would like to see some kind of reciprocal agreement with <br />the school be looked into. Councilperson Shipp inquired as <br />to the cost of having a metes and bounds survey done. <br /> <br />21. There were no administrative reports. <br /> <br />22. Council Action: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, <br />Shipp, Gay, Skelton and Mayor Malone brought items to <br />Council's attention. <br /> <br />A workshop will be held on December 7, with a called <br />regular meeting to follow. The feasibility of only having <br />the one meeting in December will be investigated by the <br />City Manager. <br /> <br />23. <br /> <br />Council adjourned into executive session <br />discuss a personnel matter, which was to <br />performance review of the City Manager. <br />to the Council table at 9:14 P.M. <br /> <br />at 8:31 P.M. to <br />continue the <br />Council returned <br /> <br />24.
