The workshop meeting was adjourned and the called meeting <br />was brought to order. <br /> <br />5. Second by <br />Councilperson Lloyd. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />Before continuing the order of business, the City Manager <br />asked that Janie Luna be allowed to present a report on the <br />review of areas of citizen concern regarding the animal <br />ordinance. Council agreed, and the report was given by Ms. <br />Luna, including staff recommendations. The report is <br />attached to these minutes as back up. <br /> <br />Councilperson Skelton requested that the recommendations <br />presented by staff be incorporated into the animal <br />ordinance and that it be brought before Council on January <br />1 1, 1988. <br /> <br />6. Dr. Clark, representing Bayshore Hospital, recognized La <br />Porte EMS for their outstanding work. He introduced Mr. <br />Larry Huff, new chief executive officer of Bayshore <br />Hospital. Mr. Huff presented the EMS with a plaque and a <br />donation of a portable noxious oxide unit. <br /> <br />Mr. Mike Cooper then addressed Council concerning the <br />request of HCS for an extension of HCS's deadline for <br />answering questions asked at the Town Meeting. <br /> <br />7. Council considered approving Ordinance 1566 updating Texas <br />Municipal Retirement System Service Credits. This item had <br />been tabled by Councilperson Porter at the meeting of <br />November 23. <br />
