0 0 <br />Minutes, Public Hearings and Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />January 11, 1988, Page 3 <br />Mark Follis addressed Council to oppose the rezoning. He <br />echoed the remarks of Mr. Moser. <br />There was no other input and the Mayor declared Public <br />Hearing B closed. <br />Public Hearing C, regarding dangerous buildings, was called <br />to order by the Mayor. <br />Items 1 and 3 of this hearing were removed due to the <br />voluntary consent of the owners to have the buildings <br />demolished. <br />The Mayor asked for public input regarding Block 66, Lots <br />17-20, La Porte (two buildings). <br />Mrs. Everlena Thornton, owner of the property, addressed <br />Council. She is opposed to the demolition of the buildings <br />on her property; this is her homestead and she has no <br />intention of anyone trespassing on the property to demolish <br />the buildings, as she wants to keep them. <br />The Mayor asked for public input regarding Block 80, Lots <br />1-2, La Porte. No one came forward. <br />The Mayor asked for public input regarding Block 89, Lots <br />9-10, La Porte. No one came forward. <br />The Mayor declared the Public Hearing on dangerous <br />buildings closed. <br />4. Council considered approving minutes of the workshop and <br />called regular meeting held December 7, 1987. <br />It was noted by Councilperson Lloyd that on page 7 of the <br />minutes, item 15, stated that a motion was made and also <br />seconded by Councilperson Gay. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to approve the <br />minutes after the correction to item 15 is made to show the <br />proper second to the motion. Second by Councilperson <br />Waters. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />0 <br />
