Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />January 25, 1988, Page 3 <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />8. Council considered an ordinance amending the previous <br />"Animal and Fowl" Ordinance 1559. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1559-A - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING SECTION 5-27, "LICENSE AND VACCINATION REQUIRED", <br />OF CHAPTER FIVE OF THE "ANIMALS AND FOWL" OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, ALTERING REQUIREMENTS <br />FOR RETAINMENT OF ANNUAL LICENSES, ALTERING FEES REQUIRED <br />TO BE PAID TO THE CITY OF LA PORTE TO OBTAIN ANNUAL <br />LICENSES, AND CREATING A REGISTRATION LICENSE FOR DOGS OR <br />CATS OVER SIX WEEKS OF AGE; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON <br />VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED <br />GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND UPON CONVICTION SHALL BE FINED <br />IN ANY SUM NOT MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00); <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING A <br />SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Ordinance <br />1559-A as read by the City Attorney. Second by <br />Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke, and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Administrative Assistant to the City Manager Janie Luna <br />presented a brief report on the current revenues that have <br />been collected in connection with the Animals and Fowl <br />ordinance. <br />9. Council considered approval of continuing a lease agreement <br />with the Texas Department of Human Resources. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gay to approve the lease <br />agreement with the Texas Department of Human Resources. <br />Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 7 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br />
