Council considered an ordinance approving an alcoholic <br />beverage permit for Jalisco Taqueria. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1000-W - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1000 OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, <br />DESIGNATING THE AREAS WHERE BEER FOR CONSUMPTION ON <br />PREMISES MAY BE SOLD AND PROHIBITING THE SALE ELSEWHERE; <br />PROVIDING FOR HOURS OF OPENING AND CLOSING; DEFINING SOURCE <br />OF AUTHORITY; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING THAT NO <br />LICENSE SHALL BE ISSUED EXCEPT FOR THE AREAS HEREIN <br />DESIGNATED; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by CounccilBerson Gay to adopt Ordinance <br />jQ00-W__as read by the City Attorney. Second by <br />Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, <br />Shipp, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />12. Council was to consider a resolution supporting local <br />businesses whenever feasible, appropriate and lawful. At <br />the request of the Mayor, this item will be addressed at a <br />later date. <br />13• Council considered authorizing the City Attorney to prepare <br />a reciprocal agreement for use of Sylvan Beach Convention <br />Center/School Facilities. <br />Motion was made by_Councilperson Matuszak to authorize the <br />City Attorney__ to prepare_a reciprocal agreement between the <br />City and La Porte Independent School District for use of <br />h ' <br />Second by Councilperson Porter.
