• <br />Minutes, Public Hearing <br />La Porte City Council <br />March 28, 1988, Page 4 <br />and Regular Meeting <br />Motion <br />was made by Councilperson <br />Lloyd <br />to adopt Ordinance <br />1580 as <br />read by the City Attornev. <br />Second by Councilperson <br />Gay. <br />The motion carried, 9 <br />ayes and <br />0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, <br />Shipp, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />9. Council considered an ordinance vacating, abandoning, and <br />closing a portion of the alley in Block Eleven Hundred <br />Thirty (1130). <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1581 - AN ORDINANCE <br />VACATING, ABANDONING, AND CLOSING A PORTION OF THE ALLEY IN <br />BLOCK ELEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY (1130), IN THE TOWN OF LA <br />PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Lloyd to adopt Ordinance <br />1581 as read by the City Attornev. Second by Councilperson <br />Gay. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, <br />Shipp, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />10. Council considered an ordinance calling for a non -binding <br />referendum to be held in conjunction with the City's <br />general election on May 7, 1988. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1582 - AN ORDINANCE <br />CALLING FOR A NON -BINDING REFERENDUM, TO BE HELD IN <br />CONJUNCTION WITH THE CITY'S GENERAL ELECTION ON MAY 7, <br />1988; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to adopt <br />Or�_ipance 1582 as t_h� City Attornev. Second by <br />Councilperson Waters. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 2 <br />nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, <br />Shipp, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: Councilpersons Gay and Skelton <br />
