The meeting was called to order by Mayor Malone at 6:00 <br />P.M. <br /> <br />Members of City Council Present: Mayor Norman Malone, <br />Councilpersons John Lloyd, Ed Matuszak, Alton Porter, Mike <br />Shipp, Deotis Gay (arrived at 6:50 P.M.), Jerry Clarke <br /> <br />Members of Citv Council Absent: Councilpersons Betty <br />Waters and B. Don Skelton <br /> <br />Members of City Staff Present: City Manager Bob Herrera, <br />City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, <br />Assistant City Manager John Joerns, Administrative <br />Assistant to the City Manager Janie Luna, Police Chief <br />Charles Smith, Director of Parks and Recreation Stan <br />Sherwood, Chief Building Official/Zoning Administrator <br />Ervin Griffith, Assistant Director of Public Works Buddy <br />Jacobs, Director of Community Development Joel Albrecht, <br />Recreation Supervisor Tim O'Connor, Parks Supervisor Bert <br />Clark, Assistant Fire Chief John Dunham, CIP Manager Ross <br />Cox <br /> <br />Others Present: Mr. Gee and the Commander of the La Porte <br />DAV Post; Larry Huff, Dr. Dale Clark, Dr. Joe Mock, <br />Pasadena Bayshore Hospital; approximately 25 citizens <br /> <br />2. The invocation was given by Mayor Malone in the absence of <br />Councilperson Betty Waters. <br /> <br />3. The Mayor proclaimed Mayas Disabled American Veterans <br />month in La Porte. <br /> <br />4. Council considered approving the minutes of the regular <br />meeting held April 11, 1988. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Shipp to aporove the April <br />11 minute~ as presente~. Second by Councilperson Porter. <br />The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays (Councilperson Gay <br />had not yet arrived). <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Lloyd, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, <br />Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />
