Council considered an ordinance declaring the results of the <br />non-binding referendum election held May 7, 1988. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1586 - AN ORDINANCE <br />DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE NON-BINDING REFERENDUM HELD IN <br />THE CITY OF LA PORTE ON MAY 7, 1988; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH <br />THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br /> <br />The City Attorney announced the results of the referendum as <br />follows: Yes - 1346; No - 375 <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilperson Shipp to adopt Ordinance <br />1586 as read bv the Citv Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Matuszak. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, Porter, <br />Shipp, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />The Mayor then asked Council to deviate from the agenda and <br />address item 18, executive session, under V.A.T.S. Article <br />6252-17, Section 2(E) (Legal), to consult with Charles <br />Dippel, Sears & Burns, regarding the EPA Rehabilitation <br />Project law suit. Council adjourned into executive session <br />at 6:20 P.M. and returned to the Council table at 6:32 P.M. <br /> <br />7. Workshop I~em: Discuss user fee structure for La Porte's Bay <br />Forest Golf Course <br /> <br />Alex Osmond, golf pro, and members of the Golf Course <br />Advisory Board, discussed with Council the fee structure, <br />rates, and memberships for the golf course. Several changes <br />were recommended and the City Attorney will revise the <br />ordinance to reflect these changes. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Counciloerson Waters to table Item 9, <br />which was to consider the ordinance setting rates for La <br />Porte's Bay Forest Golf Course, until the meeting of May 2~, <br />in order to allow the City Attornev to revise the ordinance. <br />Second by Councilperson Cooper. The motion carried, with no <br />"nays" being heard. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, Porter, <br />Shipp, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />
