e e Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council May 9, 1988, Page 4 Councilpersons Matuszak and Porter objected to the vote, indicating that Council had not come out of workshop, and the ordinance should be addressed at its proper time. The Mayor then adjourned the workshop portion of the meeting. The Mayor asked that Council permit item 16B to be addressed at this time, since many EMS members were present and needed to leave to go on duty, or had been on duty and needed to go home. Acting EMS Chief Gary Williams addressed Council regarding the heroic efforts of two EMS personnel, Ray Nolen and Ron Matejowsky, in rescuing a fall victim at the Fred Hartman bridge site. These two young men went above and beyond the call of duty in that the difficulty and danger of the rescue was extreme. The City is very proud of these EMS personnel. 8. Mrs. Donna Gullett, 502 South Sixth, addressed Council regarding an increase of strangers in her neighborhood. She asked for help in the way of extra patrol or whatever else could be provided. 9. Addressed under item 7. However, because some of the Council were of the opinion that the motion had been voted before the workshop item was adjourned, the Mayor asked for another motion. Motion was made bv Councilperson Waters to table this item until May 2~, as recommended bv the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson Shipp. The motion carried, 6 ayes and 2 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Shipp, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone Nays: Councilpersons Matuszak and Porter 10. Council considered approving a reciprocal agreement with La Porte ISD for use of Sylvan Beach Pavilion/School facilities. Motion was made bv Counciloerson Porter to approve the reciprocal agreement between La Porte ISD and the City. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 6 ayes and 2 nays. Ayes: Councilperson Cooper, Matuszak, Porter, Shipp, Clarke and Mayor Malone Nays: Councilpersons Waters and Skelton
