Council members expressed their appreciation to Mr. <br />Porter. <br /> <br />6. The Mayor proclaimed the week of June 16 through 19 as <br />"Juneteenth Week". <br /> <br />7. The following citizens addressed Council: <br /> <br />Bill Gwaltney, 3039 Fondren: Thanked staff and the Planning <br />and Zoning commission for their efforts on the BayMUD area <br />zoning. stated that he would like to see all new construction <br />in the BayMUD area of La Porte fall under the R-1 category. <br /> <br />Jim Zoller, 907 Hackberry: Commented that the City has <br />delivered as promised, all the services that were discussed <br />at the town meetings held during the annexation period. He <br />is very pleased with City services. Is pleased with the voice <br />BayMUD citizens had in zoning process. <br /> <br />Nancy Neely, president of La Porte Texans War on Drugs, <br />presented Mayor Malone with a shirt in appreciation of his <br />attending the 4:00 A.M. breakfast with the senior class at the <br />proj ect Graduation event. Mayor Malone complimented Mrs. <br />Neely and her co-workers on a very successful program, and <br />expressed his appreciation of their efforts. <br /> <br />Spero Pomonis, 218 Bay Colony: Very pleased with City <br />services in the Bay Colony area of La Porte. He is appearing <br />to give support on the zoning issue of BayMUD. Thanked the <br />Planning and Zoning Commission, Joel Albrecht and staff, for <br />a fine job. <br /> <br />Thelma Percoco, One pine Bluff: Representing the Pine Bluff <br />Civic Association. Thanked Council for services being <br />received since they have become a part of the City. Pleased <br />with zoning recommended for their subdivision and hopes <br />Council votes to leave it as it is recommended. <br /> <br />Dr. Nelson Yoder, 515 S. Shady Lane: Asked that his property <br />located in Shady Oaks not be zoned Residential, as it has been <br />commercial since 1950, and he has had his office there since <br />1962 and it has been in continuous use as a commercial <br />building since that time. He asked Council to leave lots 10 <br />and 1C in the Shady Oaks subdivision with Commercial zoning. <br /> <br />Ben Ritchie, 435 S. Shady Lane: <br />zoned lot in the Shady Oaks <br />residential under the proposed <br />Oaks. <br /> <br />Asked that his commercially <br />subdivision not be zoned <br />permanent zoning for Shady <br />
