<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />June 12, 1989, Page 5 <br /> <br />The Assistant City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1501-J - AN <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1501, BY CHANGING THE <br />CLASSIFICATIONS OF THOSE CERTAIN PARCELS OF LAND HEREIN <br />DESCRIBED, SAID PARCELS BEING FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE BAYSHORE <br />MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT, ANNEXED BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE <br />ON DECEMBER 31, 1988; DIVIDING SAID NEWLY ANNEXED AREA INTO <br />DISTRICTS OF SUCH NUMBER AND AREA AS ARE DEEMED BEST SUITED <br />TO CARRY OUT THE REGULATIONS EMBODIED IN SAID ORDINANCE 1501; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING THAT <br />ANY PERSON OR CORPORATION VIOLATING ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF <br />ORDINANCE 1501 OR ANY AMENDMENTS THERETO, INCLUDING THIS <br />ORDINANCE, SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR, AND UPON <br />CONVICTION, SHALL BE LIABLE TO A FINE NOT TO EXCEED $1,000.00, <br />WITH EACH DAY OF VIOLATION CONSTITUTING A SEPARATE OFFENSE; <br />PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />The City Attorney indicated that an amendment had been <br />proposed indicating that in the southmost tract of BayMUD, <br />that the Neighborhood Commercial line, the southernmost point <br />on Bay Oaks Drive east of Old Highway 146 be extended <br />southward, through the entirety one lot deep, of the <br />southernmost tract of BayMUD so that would be classified as <br />Neighborhood Commercial. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilperson Waters to adoot Ordinance <br />1501-J as amended. Second by Councilperson McLaughlin. The <br />motion carried, 7 ayes, 0 nays, 1 abstain. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, <br />Shipp, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilperson Gay <br /> <br />Council reconvened into executive session at 8: 07 p. m. to <br />discuss executive item C, continue discussion of appointments <br />to various boards and commissions. Council returned to the <br />Council table at 8:53 p.m. <br /> <br />15.
