Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />February 12, 1990, Page 5 <br />17. Council considered a consent agenda, as follows: (A) Consider <br />awarding a bid for police vehicles; (B) Consider awarding a <br />bid for chemicals and fertilizers; (C) Consider awarding a <br />contract for janitorial maintenance service for City Hall, <br />Public Works and Sylvan Beach Pavilion; (D) Consider awarding <br />bid for industrial tractor loader/backhoe. <br />Councilperson Skelton requested removal of item A; <br />Councilperson McLaughlin requested removal of item C. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gay to approve items B and <br />D of the consent agenda. Second by Councilperson Porter. The <br />motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />After discussion of Item A, motion was made by Councilperson <br />Skelton to award the bid for police vehicles to the low <br />bidder. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, <br />9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />After discussion of Item C, motion was made by Councilperson <br />McLaughlin to award the contract for janitorial maintenance <br />service to Houston Sanitary and Maintenance. Second by <br />Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />18. There was no administrative report. <br />19. Council action: Councilpersons Skelton, Gay, Porter, <br />McLaughlin, Matuszak, Cooper and Mayor Malone brought items <br />to Council's attention. <br />20. There was no executive session. <br />21. There being no further business to come before the Council, <br />the meeting was duly adjourned at 8:40 P.M. <br />
