<br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />February 26, 1990, Page 2 <br />5. The Mayor proclaimed March 5 through 9, 1990, as Texas Public <br />Schools Week. Members of the La Porte ISD were present to <br />accept the proclamation. <br />6. Nine Lomax Elementary School students addressed Council <br />regarding their environmental concerns. Council was very <br />impressed with their presentation. <br />7. Council considered an ordinance authorizing sale and coveyance <br />of a certain parcel of real property by the City of La Porte. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1678 - AN ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING THE SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF A CERTAIN PARCEL OF <br />REAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE; MAKING CERTAIN <br />FINDINGS OF FACT; AUTHORIZING NOTICE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC OF <br />THE OFFER OF THE LAND FOR SALE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Porter to adopt Ordinance <br />1678 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />McLaughlin. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays <br />(Councilperson Gay had not yet arrived). <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Waters, Cooper, Matuszak, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />8. Council considered ordinances granting pipeline permits to Big <br />Three Industrial Gas, Inc. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 915-DD - AN ORDINANCE <br />GRANTING A PERMIT UNDER SECTION 18-A-3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 915, <br />"PIPELINE TRANSPORTATION," BEING CHAPTER 18-A OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, DATED NOVEMBER 25, <br />1975, TO CONSTRUCT A SIX INCH PIPE LINE FOR THE TRANSPORTATION <br />OF HYDROGEN; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF; and <br />ORDINANCE 915-EE - AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A PERMIT UNDER <br />SECTION 18-A-3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 915, "PIPELINE <br />TRANSPORTATION," BEING CHAPTER 18-A OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES <br />OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, DATED NOVEMBER 25, 1975, TO <br />CONSTRAUCT A TWELVE INCH PIPE LINE FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF <br />NITRAOGEN; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to adopt Ordinances <br />915-DD and 915-EE as read by the City Attorney. Second by <br />Councilperson Cooper. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
