Council considered awarding a bid for electric golf cars. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to award the bid <br />for electric golf cars to E-Z-Go Textron in the amount of <br />$102,396.92, using option 2 for payment, which is $27,860 in <br />1990 and $74,536.92 in 1992. Council considered an ordinance amending Ordinance 1587 - <br />establishing user fees and rules and regulations for the City <br />of La Porte Bay Forest golf course. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1587-B - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE 1587, AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING USER FEES <br />AND RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE BAY FOREST <br />GOLF COURSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to adopt Ordinance <br />1587-B as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Porter. Council considered an ordinance amending Chapter 12, "Garbage <br />and Trash," of the Code of Ordinances of the City of La Porte <br />(establishing City as sole provider of collection and disposal <br />of commercial solid waste). <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1729 - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 12, "GARBAGE AND TRASH," OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON <br />VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY <br />OF A MISDEMEANOR AND UPON CONVICTION SHALL BE FINED A SUM NOT <br />TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200.00); CONTAINING A <br />SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS <br />LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Ordinance <br />1729 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Sutherland. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
