Council considered approving and nominating an individual to <br />serve on the Harris County Appraisal District Board of <br />Directors. <br /> <br />Council consented to confer with other representatives of <br />Harris County Mayors' and Councils' Association at the meeting <br />on December 20 to see which names the other cities were going <br />to recommend. Our representatives would also put feelers out <br />regarding the submission of either Betty Waters or Bobby <br />Blackwell as La Porte's nominee. <br /> <br />20. Administrative Reports <br /> <br />While Stan Sherwood was approaching the podium to address <br />Council regarding item A, Mr. Herrera announced that he had <br />passed out a letter from Senator Lloyd Bentsen, Senator Phil <br />Gramm, and Congressman Mike Andrews which they had sent to Dr. <br />Allen Davis of the EPA in Dallas. Mr. Herrera then read the <br />letter, which regarded their opposition to Houston Chemical <br />Services' hazardous waste permit application. <br /> <br />A. New Year's Dance at Pavilion - Stan Sherwood announced <br />that the City is sponsoring a New Year's Eve dance to be <br />held at Sylvan Beach Pavilion. Tickets will be $10.00 <br />per person in advance and $12.00 per person at the door. <br />Beer and wine will be available, with a BYOB. A <br />
