The city Manager asked that direction from Council <br />be given staff so they could proceed. After discussion, it <br />was decided to hold a workshop in February of 1991, or if the <br />meeting did not have to be held on a Monday, perhaps an <br />earlier date could be set. <br /> <br />21. Council Action - Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Matuszak, <br />McLaughl in, Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />brought items to Council's attention. <br /> <br />22. Council adjourned into executive session at 8: 32 P.M. to <br />address the following: (A) Article 6252-17, Section 2(R) - <br />Conference Discuss Appraisal of Industrial District <br />Contracts; (B) Article 6252-17, section 2(G) - Personnel - <br />Discuss Appointments to Re-Districting Committee; (C) Article <br />6252-17, section 2(G) - Personnel - Continue Evaluation of <br />City Manager. Council returned to the table at 10:06 P.M. No <br />action was taken in executive session. <br /> <br />Motion was made bY Councilperson Skelton to receive values <br />from the Harris County Appraisal District for the next tax <br />year for the Industrial Districts and that a record be kept <br />of time expended and problems experienced bY City staff. and <br />that we retain Huqh Landrum & Associates on an hourly <br />aqreement to assist in the transition phase to serve as a <br />safety net for both the City and the Appraisal District. <br />Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 9 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke <br />Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Matuszak, <br />and Mayor <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />It was agreed to set another executive session to continue the <br />evaluation of the City Manager, and that each Councilperson <br />would bring a recommendation for an appointment to the re- <br />districting committee to the next Council meeting. <br />
