<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />August 26, 1991, Page 2 <br /> <br />Councilperson Skelton and others pointed out to Councilperson <br />Gay that pages 7, 8 and 9 of the minutes reflect that all <br />those items were addressed and voted on. <br /> <br />The vote was taken, and the motion to adopt the minutes as <br />presented carried, 7 ayes and 1 nay. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, Porter, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Councilperson Gay <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />4. There were no citizens wishing to address Council. <br /> <br />5. Rick Steward presented the Employee of the Quarter Award for <br />April-June, 1991, to Ronald White. Mr. White was presented <br />with a plaque and appreciation for a job well done. <br /> <br />6. Council considered an ordinance appointing a member of the <br />Board of Directors, Position 3, of the La Porte Area Water <br />Authority, for a term to expire September 1, 1993. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Council~erson Thrower to aoooint Rodney J. <br />Etchberaer to Position 3 of the La Porte Area Water Authority <br />Board of Directors. for a term to exoire Seotember 1. 1993. <br />Second by Councilperson Porter. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1776 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPOINTING A DIRECTOR, POSITION 3, OF THE LA PORTE AREA WATER <br />AUTHORITY, FOR A TERM TO EXPI~E SEPTEMBER 1, 1993; CONTAINING <br />A REPEALING CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS <br />LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />The vote was taken and the motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, Porter, <br />Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />7. Council considered an ordinance authorizing the City to enter <br />into an agreement with the State of Texas for the relocation <br />of utility lines within the Spencer Highway PASS Project and <br />establishing a payment schedule. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1777 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE TEXAS <br />DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AND THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE FOR UTILITY ADJUSTMENTS FOR THE SPENCER HIGHWAY <br />PASS PROJECT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING <br />TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />
