<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />August 26, 1991, Page J <br /> <br />Motion was made bY Counciloerson Skelton to adopt Ordinance <br />1777 as read by the city Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Cooper. Councilperson Porter stated that he would like to go <br />on record as being disappointed in the disparity of what we <br />were told when we signed the Minute Order initially, and what <br />we ended up with. <br /> <br />The vote was taken, and the motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, Porter, <br />Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />8. Council considered an ordinance authorizing the City to enter <br />into an agreement to contribute funds for the relocation of <br />pipeline crossing Spencer Highway. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1778 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE TEXAS <br />DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AND THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE, FOR ADJUSTMENT. OF THE CHEVRON AND MOBIL OIL <br />CORPORATION PIPELINES FOR THE SPENCER HIGHWAY PASS PROJECT; <br />MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE <br />SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to adopt Ordinance <br />1778 as read bY the city Attorney. The motion carried, 7 ayes <br />and 1 nay. <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, Gay, <br />Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Councilperson Porter <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />9. council considered the request of Diamond Shamrock Refining <br />and Marketing Company for a permit to construct an 8-5/8 inch <br />pipeline within the Exxon pipeline corridor. <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 915-FF - AN ORDINANCE <br />GRANTING A PERMIT UNDER SECTION 18-a-J OF ORDINANCE NO. 915, <br />"PIPELINE TRANSPORTATION," BEING CHAPTER 18-A OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, DATED NOVEMBER 25, <br />1975, TO CONSTRUCT. AN 8-INCH PIPE LINE FOR THE TRANSPORTATION <br />OF PROPYLENE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilgerson Sutherland to adopt Ordinance <br />915-FF as read by the city Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />Cooper. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
