Council considered resolution concerning permit for retailers <br />selling beer and wine for consumption on premises, at gasoline <br />service stations and grocery stores, or a combination thereof. <br />The City Attorney read: RESOLUTION NO. 91-12 - A RESOLUTION <br />CONCERNING PERMITS FOR RETAILERS SELLING BEER AND WINE FOR <br />CONSUMPTION ON PREMISES, AT GASOLINE SERVICE STATIONS AND <br />GROCERY STORES, OR A COMBINATION THEREOF; FINDING COMPLIANCE <br />WITH THE OPEN MEETING LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br />HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Resolution <br />91-12 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />McLaughlin. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 2 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Skelton and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: Councilpersons Gay and Clarke <br />14. Consider an ordinance amending Ordinance 1000, designating the <br />areas where beer for consumption on premises may be sold and <br />prohibiting the sale elsewhere. <br />The City Attorney stated that Council should table item 14, <br />Ordinance 1000-CC. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to table Ordinance <br />1000-CC. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, <br />9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone. <br />Nays: None <br />15. Council considered authorizing the City Manager to purchase <br />property located at 1302 South Broadway for the City's SPORT <br />Program. <br />City Manager Bob Herrera requested this item be taken to <br />executive session. Council was in agreement. <br />
