We also <br />discussed the possibility of alienating the City with such a <br />measure and possibly not obtaining favorable treatment on the <br />zoning of our property. <br />The Council met again at a public hearing on December 27 <br />to vote on the proposed annexation. I again appeared on behalf of <br />Shindler/Cummins and plead our position to the Council. I stressed <br />to the Council the reasons why Shindler/Cummins was,•opposing the <br />annexation. The Council then proceeded to approve the annexation <br />:. with the modification as required by the City of Shore Acres on <br />the south portion of the tract. ' <br />The Shindler/Cummins tract is now annexed to and within <br />the City of LaPorte. The City must provide sewer facili ies to.the <br />tract within a three year period. The Municipal Utility District <br />is still alive for all intents and purposes and can still provide <br />services to the Shindler/Cummins tract.
