<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />November 11, 1991, Page 3 <br /> <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1792 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN INTERLOCAL PURCHASE AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; MAKING <br />VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to adopt Ordinance <br />1792 as read by the city Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />McLaughlin. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />None <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />11. Council considered ordinance approving entering into joint <br />venture with Harris County on various road projects. <br /> <br />Bob Herrera stated that staff recommends we enter into this <br />agreement with Harris County for an overlay project on four <br />streets within the city limits of La Porte, as we carried <br />these funds for this project in last year's budget and $90,000 <br />was carried forth into this year's budget and the approximate <br />cost to the city for this joint venture has been estimated at <br />$70,000, putting this project within our fund balance. <br /> <br />City Attorney Knox Askins read: ORDINANCE 1797 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A JOINT VENTURE AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND HARRIS COUNTY FOR PAVEMENT OVERLAY <br />OF VARIOUS ROADS; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN <br />MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Steve Gillett led discussion and <br />answered questions from the Council regarding details of the <br />project. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to adopt Ordinance <br />1797 as read bY the city Attornev. Second by Councilperson <br />Thrower.
