<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />November 11, 1991, Page 6 <br /> <br />Motion was made bv CouncilDerson Clarke to acceDt the bids on <br />all of the items and include the line items for the over bid <br />item on the tractors for a qrand total of $347.741.19. <br />Second by Councilperson Thrower. The motion carried, 9 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />17. ci ty Manager Bob Herrera stated there were no items for <br />administrati ve reports other than his items for executive <br />session. <br /> <br />18. Council Action Councilpersons Gay, Skelton, Clarke, <br />Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin and Mayor Malone brought items <br />to Council's attention. <br /> <br />City Attorney Knox Askins stated he had received "good news" <br />today regarding the Bay Port Aviation, Inc. bankruptcy that <br />has been pending for a long time. Today the ci ty was <br />delivered a cashiers check for $25,000.00 and received a <br />check last week for $27,000.00. This brings Bay Port <br />Aviation lease up to date and all the property taxes through. <br />1990 are paid up to date and the bankruptcy attorney has <br />filed a motion with the bankruptcy court to regain for the <br />City the attorney's fees, in full, as part of the Chapter 11 <br />Plan. <br /> <br />Mayor Malone stated Parks Foreman Randy Cernosek made a very <br />nice easel to place the Desert Storm Plaque on and the plaque <br />was placed on the football field for the Veteran's Day <br />Program held at the La Porte High School. It has now been <br />placed at La Porte State Bank for the citizens to view and <br />will remain there for about a week, then it will be place at <br />Bayshore National Bank for viewing. <br /> <br />Mayor Malone commended Police Chief Bobby L. Powell for the <br />excellent rapport he exhibits with his Officers and <br />employees. <br /> <br />Mayor Malone brought to Councils' attention a letter he. <br />received from County Attorney Mike Driscoll exemplifying <br />positive support in the City's fight against HCS. <br />
