<br /> <br />Offi~e of the ~ayor <br /> <br />0\1 ~(J () <br />~~#ii"&9 <br /> <br />r <br /> <br /> <br />ion <br /> <br />DJl~rrra.a : <br /> <br />The City of La Porte is most fortunate to have a <br />resident who was born and raised in our City and who <br />has been a "historian" most of his life; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this dedicated and hard working individual has given wlselfishly <br /> <br />of his time and energies so others could benefit from his great resource and knowledge of the <br /> <br />history of our City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this individual has shared his historical pictures, documents and <br /> <br />knowledge with interested and inquiring persons throughout the State of Texas; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is felt that this gentleman, who is one of LaPorte's finest sons, <br /> <br />should be named as the official "JIistorian" of the City of La Porte because of his contributions <br /> <br />of historical knowledge. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, NORMAN MALONE, MAYOR of the City <br /> <br />of La Porte, do hereby proclaim that GORDON BLACK shall be recognized as the <br /> <br />Official Historian for the City of La Porte from this day forward, and I call upon all citizens <br /> <br />and civic organizations to recognize the contributions which Gordoll Black, Historian, has <br /> <br />provided to La Porte and its citizens. <br /> <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the <br /> <br />Seal of the City of La P0I1e to be affixed hereto, this the 9th day of December, 1991. <br /> <br />CITY OIl' LA PORTE <br /> <br />Norman L.
