<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Public Hearing, citizens <br />Participation Meeting, And Regular <br />Meeting La Porte City Council <br />December 9, 1991, Page 5 <br /> <br />Bill Herrick, 1023 Hackberry, President of Atlantis Homes, <br />had a question on setback requirements from utility easements. <br />He asked that City Council deny the request for a change in <br />the amendment covering that area until there is a demonstrated <br />need where utility easements are not adequate. Inspector Mark <br />Lewis and John Joerns clarified the intent of the amendment <br />to the code, which satisfied Mr. Herrick's concerns. <br /> <br />Councilpersons Cooper, Clark, Sutherland, Gay, Porter, <br />Thrower, Skelton, McLaughlin and Mayor Malone asked questions <br />and commented on various aspects of the proposed ordinance <br />amendments. Questions were addressed, discussed and answered <br />by Assistant City Attorney John Armstrong, City Manager Bob <br />Herrera and Assistant City Manager John Joerns. <br /> <br />City Manager Bob Herrera stated it would be appropriate for <br />the Council to move on if there were no other public comments <br />to the agenda item and if there were other questions Council <br />could direct those to our city Attorney. Council considered approving directing Planning and Zoning <br />commission to further study recommendations regarding bed and <br />breakfast establishments as addressed in Ordinance 1501 - <br />Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, Gay, Skelton, <br />Clarke, Porter. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to approve <br />directinq Planninq and Zoninq Commission to further studY <br />recommendations regarding bed and breakfast establishments as <br />addressed in Ordinance 1501. Second by Councilperson Gay. <br />
