Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council April 13, 1992, Page 4 Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to authorize the Cit Manager to enter into the agreement with Manning Engineering in the amount of S6,900, and appropriate the necessary funds from the Utility Contingency Fund. Second by Councilperson Gay. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 1 nay. Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone Nays: Councilperson McLaughlin 12. Council considered awarding bid for 10 ton air conditioner. Motion was made by Councilperson Thrower to award the bid for a 10 ton air conditioner to HVAC Mechanical Services, Inc. in the amount of 56,250. Second by Councilperson Skelton. Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to amend the motion to include selling the old unit for scrap. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The amended motion failed, 4 ayes and 5 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower and Clarke Nays: Councilpersons McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Skelton and Mayor Malone The original motion was voted, and the motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. Administrative Reports: City Manager Bob Herrera stated that the joint venture with Harris County for various road improvements had proven very successful, and he is looking forward to the City participating in more such joint ventures with the County. 14. Council Action: Councilpersons Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay and Skelton brought items to Council's attention. 15.
