<br />Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />April 13, 1992, Page 4 <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to authorize the Cit <br />Manager to enter into the agreement with Manning Engineering <br />in the amount of S6,900, and appropriate the necessary funds <br />from the Utility Contingency Fund. Second by Councilperson <br />Gay. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 1 nay. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, Porter, <br />Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: Councilperson McLaughlin <br />12. Council considered awarding bid for 10 ton air conditioner. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Thrower to award the bid for <br />a 10 ton air conditioner to HVAC Mechanical Services, Inc. in <br />the amount of 56,250. Second by Councilperson Skelton. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Sutherland to amend the <br />motion to include selling the old unit for scrap. Second by <br />Councilperson Clarke. The amended motion failed, 4 ayes and <br />5 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower and <br />Clarke <br />Nays: Councilpersons McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Skelton and <br />Mayor Malone <br />The original motion was voted, and the motion carried, 9 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Skelton, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />13. Administrative Reports: City Manager Bob Herrera stated that <br />the joint venture with Harris County for various road <br />improvements had proven very successful, and he is looking <br />forward to the City participating in more such joint ventures <br />with the County. <br />14. Council Action: Councilpersons Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, <br />Porter, Gay and Skelton brought items to Council's attention. <br />15. Council adjourned into executive session at 7:04 P.M. to <br />discuss the following items under V.A.T.S. - Article 6252-17: <br />(A) Section 2(E) - (Legal) - Discussion with special counsel <br />
