Office of the Mayor <br /> <br />x <br />~~ <br />~prp~j,~ ; The members of emergency medical services teams <br />devote their lives to saving lives of others; and <br />WHEREAS, Emergency medical services teams consist of emergency <br />physicians, nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, educators, and administrators; <br />and <br />WI-IEREAS, The people of La Porte, Texas, henefit daily from the knowledge <br />and skill of these trained individuals; and <br />WHEREAS,Advances in emergency medical careincreasethe number of lives <br />every year; and <br />WHEREAS, The professional organizations ofproviders of emergency medical <br />services promote research to improve and adapt their skills as new methods of emergency <br />treatment are developed; and <br />WHEREAS, The members of emergency medical services teams encourage <br />national standardization of training and testing of emergency medical personnel and reciprocal <br />recognition of training and credentials by the States; and <br />WHEREAS ,The designation of Emergency Medical Services Week will serve <br />to educate the people of the City of La Porte about injury prevention and what to do when <br />confronted with a medical emergency; and <br />NO W, THEREFORE, I, NORMAN L.
