Council considered an ordinance authorizing and approving a <br />contract award for demolition of condemned structures. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE NO. 1846 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE AND ALL TEXAS DEMOLISHING, FOR DANGEROUS BUILDING <br />DEMOLITION; APPROPRIATING NOT TO EXCEED $10,801.00 TO FUND <br />SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING <br />TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Thrower to adopt Ordinance <br />1846 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson <br />McLaughlin. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />12. Council considered a list of appointees to City of La Porte <br />Boards and Commissions and their date of expiration. <br />This item was taken to executive session. <br />13. Council considered a consent agenda, as follows: (A) Consider <br />awarding a bid for maintenance of traffic control equipment; <br />(B) Consider awarding a bid for plastic garbage bags; (C) <br />Consider awarding a bid for janitorial supplies. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson McLaughlin to approve the <br />consent agenda as presented. Second by Councilperson Cooper. <br />The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />14. There were no administrative reports. <br />15. Mayor Malone reminded Council of the Police Officers <br />Appreciation Banquet on June 10, and urged their attendance. <br />He will call Elaine with their reservations if they have not. <br />16. Council adjourned into executive session 6:30 P.M. to address <br />the following items under V.A.T.S. - Article 6252-17, Sections <br />2(E), (F), (G) and (R) - (Legal, Land Acquisition, Personnel, <br />
