On August 1 there will be an open house for the public from 10:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. After August 1 the Center will be open for business. 15. Council Action Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone brought items to council's attention. 16. Council adjourned into executive session at 7:32 P.M. to address the following items under V.A.T.S. - Article 6252-17, sections 2 (E), (F), (G), and (R): (A) section 2(E) - Legal- Discussion with Special Counsel regarding Houston Chemical Services, Inc./Southern Ionics, Inc.; (B) section 2(E) - Legal - Receive report from City Manager on legal activities; (C) section 2(F) - Land Acquisition - Receive report from City Manager on land acquisition; (D) section 2(G) - Personnel - Discuss appointments to various boards and commissions. Council returned to the table at 8:36 P.M., having taken no action during executive session. The City Attorney was directed to make a title search regarding item C; the City Secretary was directed to place appointments to boards and commissions on the July 27 agenda and as action item and also an executive session item. Item 11 was then addressed. Motion was made bY Counciloerson Thrower to aoorove amendina the Leaal budaet as recommended by Staff. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. Nays: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke Malone None Thrower, and Mayor Ayes: 17.
