Council considered amending the legal budget. This item was taken to executive session. 12. Council considered awarding a custodial contract for La Porte Recreation/Fitness Center. Motion was made by councilperson Maxwell to award the custodial contract for the Recreation/Fitness Center to Ouality Janitorial. Inc.. in the amount of $2.395.00 per month. Second by councilperson Gay. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. Nays: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke Malone None Thrower, and Mayor Ayes: 13. Council considered awarding a bid for volleyball standards. Motion was made bY Councilperson Cooper to award the bid for volleyball standards to Schelde Soorts Equipment in the amount of $5.406.00. Second by Councilperson Porter. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 1 nay. Nays: Councilpersons sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone councilperson McLaughlin Ayes: 14. Administrative Reports A. The City Manager reminded Council of the city auction on July 18, in conjunction with the city of Deer Park. B. The City Manager notified Council that there is a vacancy on the Audit Committee and a member is needed to replace former Councilperson Skelton. The Mayor asked if there were any volunteers, and Councilperson Thrower volunteered to serve on this committee. Council had no objections. C. The city Manager reported that the Recreation/Fitness Center will be substantially complete by the July 15 deadline. There will be an open house for invitees on
