Council returned to the Council table at 8:07 P.M., with no action being taken. 12. Council considered a resolution adopting 1992 appraisal roll of Harris County Appraisal District. City Attorney read: RESOLUTION NO. 92-07 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, ADOPTING THE 1992 APPRAISAL ROLL OF THE HARRIS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT. 92-07 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson Sutherland. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone Nays: None 13. Council considered an ordinance levying taxes upon taxable property located within and subject to taxation in the City of La Porte. The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE NO. 1860 - AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES UPON TAXABLE PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN AND SUBJECT TO TAXATION IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS; MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR SUPPORT, MAINTENANCE, AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF SAID CITY OF LA PORTE; FINDING THAT ALL REQUIRED NOTICES HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED AND ALL REQUIRED HEARINGS HELD; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to adopt Ordinance X860 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson Porter. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays.
