Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />January 25, 1993, Page 3 <br />At this point, Councilperson Jerry Clarke volunteered to be <br />the Alternate Delegate. <br />Councilperson Gay amended his nomination to name Guy <br />Sutherland the Delegate and Jerry Clarke the Alternate <br />Delegate. Councilperson Cooper seconded the motion. The vote <br />was taken, and the motion passed, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />8. Council considered approving a resolution for fourth -year <br />participation in computer aided dispatch (CAD) grant through <br />Houston -Galveston Area Council. <br />The City Attorney read: RESOLUTION 93-02 - A RESOLUTION BY <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING <br />THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT REQUEST TO THE GOVERNOR'S CRIMINAL <br />JUSTICE DIVISION FOR FUNDING TO THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, <br />FOR A PROGRAM KNOWN AS INFORMATION SYSTEMS/COMPUTER AIDED <br />DISPATCH. <br />It was pointed out that on the second line of the Resolution, <br />the word "County" should be changed to read "City." <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Thrower to approve Resolution <br />93-02 with the change noted. Second by Councilperson <br />McLaughlin. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None <br />9. Second by Councilperson Clarke. The motion carried, <br />9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
