• • <br />Minutes Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />June 28, 1993, Page 2 <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE NO. 1501-P - AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING ORDINANCE 1501, THE CITY OF LA PORTE ZONING <br />ORDINANCE, ARTICLE III, SECTION 3-100; ARTICLE VI, SECTION 6- <br />400, TABLE A, COMMERCIAL; AND REPEALING AND REPLACING ARTICLE <br />X, SECTION 10-1000; ET. SEQ. PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON <br />VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY <br />OF A MISDEMEANOR AND SHALL UPON CONVICTION BE FINED A SUM OF <br />NOT MORE THAN ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1000.00) FOR EACH <br />VIOLATION; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETING LAW; <br />PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Ms. Margaret Anderson, current manager of the Main Street Shoe <br />Store, spoke in opposition to the proposed amendments to <br />Ordinance 1501. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Thrower to approve ordinance <br />adopting the amendments to the La Porte Zoning Ordinance 1501. <br />Second by Councilperson Sutherland. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Clarke ask for discussion on the proposed <br />changes to on-premise real estate signs. <br />A. Section 10-1004 1.A. amend to read: <br />(6) On-premise real estate signs are allowed and <br />shall be exempt from all other provisions of <br />Section 10-1004. <br />B. Section 10-1006 title amended to read: <br />Subdivision Marketing Signs <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Cooper to approve the <br />amendment changes to on-gremise real estate signs. Second by <br />Councilperson Sutherland. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 <br />nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell and Mayor Pro Tem Clarke <br />Nays: None <br />
