Minutes Regular Meeting La Porte City Council June 28, 1993, Page 3 • Council considered the original motion made by Councilperson Thrower and seconded by Councilperson Sutherland to approve ordinance adopting the amendments to the La Porte Zoning Ordinance 1501, (Ord. 1501-P). The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell and Mayor Pro Tem Clarke Nays: None 6. Council considered approving ordinance appointing member of the Civil Service Commission. Council decided to take this item to executive session for discussion. 7. Council considered approving ordinance authorizing a contract between the City of La Porte and H2O Services, Inc., for construction of the Spencer Highway 12 inch water line. City Attorney read: ORDINANCE NO. 93-1918 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND H2O SERVICES, INC., FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE SPENCER HIGHWAY 12 INCH WATER LINE; APPROPRIATING $217,449.00 PLUS A CONTINGENCY OF $22,551.00 TO FUND SAID CONTRACT; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson Gay to approve Ordinance 93- 1918 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson Maxwell. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell and Mayor Pro Tem Clarke Nays: None 8. Council considered authorizing purchase of garbage bags through Interlocal Agreement with Houston-Galveston Area Council. Motion was made by Councilperson McLaughlin to authorize purchase of garbage bags through interlocal agreement with Houston-Galveston Area Council. Second by Councilperson Sutherland.
