<br />[' <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Minutes, Public Hearing and Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />September 13, 1993, Page 3 <br /> <br />Chuck Harrington reviewed the request and stated the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission after a public hearing and review of the <br />request has recommended the zoning change be denied. Based on <br />the determinations of the commission, staff concurred and <br />recommended that request #R93-002 be denied. Mayor Malone <br />asked if there was any public input. There were no citizens <br />wishing to speak in favor of zone change. Speaking against <br />the zone change were Bernard Le Grand, Irene Hardy, Hugh <br />McCulley, Carol Harrington and Raymond L. Anderson. The <br />public hearing was closed at 6:35 P.M. <br /> <br />11. Mayor Malone opened Public Hearing - B at 6:36 P.M. This <br />hearing was to present the purposed budget for 1993-94. Mr. <br />Herrera gave Council an over view and then turned the meeting <br />over to Director of Finance Jeff Litchfield. Mr. Litchfield <br />reviewed the content of the budget with Council. There were <br />no questions from the pUblic. Mayor Malone, speaking as a <br />citizen, commended staff for a job well done and for the many <br />hours expended in the preparation of the budget. The public <br />hearing was adjourned at 6:40 P.M. <br /> <br />12. Council considered approving zone change from R-1, Low Density <br />Residential to Manufactured Housing for Janet A. Stevenson <br /> <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1501-R - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />ORDINANCE NO 1501, BY CHANGING CLASSIFICATION OF THAT CERTAIN <br />PARCELS OF LAND HEREIN DESCRIBED; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE <br />OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made bv Councilperson McLauqhlin to concur with the <br />Planninq and Zoninq Commission and Staff and deny the zoninq <br />request #R93-002. Second by Councilperson Maxwell. The <br />motion carried, 8 ayes, 1 nay. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />councilpersons Sutherland, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Maxwell, <br />Malone <br />Councilperson Gay <br /> <br />Cooper, Thrower, <br />Clarke and Mayor <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />13. Council considered ordinance adopting budget for fiscal year <br />1993-94. <br />
