~ ~ <br />Minutes Special Called Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />September 27, 1993, Page 5 <br />12. Mayor Pro Tem Jerry Clarke called to order the Workshop <br />regarding "Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993" at 7:15 P.M. <br />Director of Administrative Services Louis Rigby led discussion <br />with Council regarding amending Chapter 6, adding Section 14, <br />"Family/Medical Leave", of the City of La Porte Personnel <br />Policy Manual. City Manager Bob Herrera gave an overview of <br />the recommendations from staff and the changes suggested by <br />Council. Mr. Herrera recommended Ordinance 93-1924 remain <br />tabled and brought back at the next regular council meeting <br />for consideration. The workshop was closed at 8:28 P.M. <br />13. Council decided to delay adopting Ordinance 93-1924 until the <br />necessary changes can be made to the ordinance as discussed at <br />the workshop. Therefore, Ordinance 93-1924 will remained <br />tabled until it can be place on the agenda for October 11, <br />1993. <br />14. City Manager Bob Herrera had no administrative reports to <br />present. <br />15. Councilpersons Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Gay and Mayor Pro <br />Tem Clarke brought items before Council. Mr. Herrera stated <br />a recommendation for combating the problems in the Little <br />Cedar Bayou Park will be forthcoming. <br />16. Council adjourned into executive session at 8:37 P.M. <br />Executive Session - V.A.T.S. - ARTICLE 6252-17, SECTION 2(E), <br />(F), (G), (R) - (LEGAL, LAND ACQUISITION, PERSONNEL, AND <br />CONFERENCE(S) WITH EMPLOYEE(S) TO RECEIVE INFORMATION) <br />A. SECTION 2(E) - (LEGAL) <br />RECEIVE REPORT FROM LEGAL COUNSEL ON PENDING LAW SUIT(S) <br />B. SECTION 2(G) - (PERSONNEL) <br />MEET WITH THE CITY MANAGER TO DISCUSS PERSONNEL MATTER(S) <br />Council returned to the table at 8:56. Item A was not <br />discussed during the executive session and will be placed on <br />the next agenda for an executive session. Item B was <br />discussed, no action taken. <br />
