e e Minutes Regular Meeting La Porte City Council December 13, 1993, Page 4 City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 93-1953 - AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 654, TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made bv Councilnerson Sutherland to annrove ordinances 93-1952 and 93-1953 as read bv the city Attornev. Second by councilperson Gay. The motion carried, 8 ayes and o nays. Ayes: councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell and Mayor Pro Tem Clarke. Nays: None 8. Consider approving ordinances authorizing the closure and sale of requested street and alley for Highway Transport, Inc. Planing Director Chuck Harrington reviewed request with Council. Assistant City Manager John Joerns and City Attorney Knox Askins explained special conditions. City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 93-1954 - AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF SOUTH 17TH STREET, IN THE TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. city Attorney read: ORDINANCE 93-1955 - AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 798, TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made bv Councilnerson Thrower to annrove ordinance~ 93-1954 & 93-1955 as read bv the city Attornev. Second by councilperson Porter. The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays.
