s • <br />Minutes Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />February 28, 1994, Page 3 <br />Mr. Herrera presented another item regarding the update on the <br />current discussion with Harris County Precinct 2 for a fishing <br />pier at Sylvan Beach County Park. Mr. Herrera asked Buddy <br />Jacobs to give an overview of the activities leading up to an <br />agreement, as the City feels an agreement will be presented in <br />the next 90 days. Mr. Herrera reported, "Council has <br />information in their agenda packets regarding the procedural <br />steps the City must follow in order to secure a coastal <br />easement permit from the Texas Land Office. In addition, you <br />will find information regarding the contract issues discussed <br />between City of La Porte and Harris County Precinct 2, <br />entering into a contract to rebuild a pier that was very much <br />in La Porte's past." <br />Parks and Recreation Director Buddy Jacobs gave an overview to <br />Council regarding the process the City has gone through to <br />obtain a permit for the rebuilding of the pier. <br />Mr. Herrera introduced Administrative Assistant to <br />Commissioner Jim Fonteno, Harris County Precinct 2, Mr. Louis <br />Ditta, who answered Councils question regarding the future <br />agreement for the pier. <br />8. Councilpersons Cooper, McLaughlin and Gay brought items to <br />Council's attention. <br />9. SECTION 2(E) - (LEGAL) <br />RECEIVE REPORT FROM LEGAL COUNSEL REGARDING LAWSUIT(S) <br />Council adjourned into executive session at 6:28 and returned <br />to the Council table to reconvene the Council meeting at 7:03 <br />10.
