Minutes Regular Meeting La Porte City Council August 8, 1994, Page 3 City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 94-1994 - AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN OPTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF LA PORTE AND HAROLD P. PFEIFFER, FOR THE. PURCHASE BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE OF TWO TRACTS OF LAND FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES; MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT; FINDING. COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Motion was made by Councilperson McLaughlin to approve Ordinance 94-1994 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Councilperson Thrower. The motion carried, 8 ayes, 0 nays, and one abstain. Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone Nays: None Abstain: Councilperson Porter 8. Council considered a consent agenda as follows: (A) Consider declaring Four Alarm Fire Equipment as a single source vendor for Hale Products for the purchase of Hurst Hydraulic Rescue Equipment; (B) Consider awarding a bid to Casco Industries, Inc., for a triple combination pumper apparatus;. (C) Consider awarding a bid for aerial mapping to Aerial Viewpoint; (D) Consider awarding a bid for the annual contract for supply of street materials. Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve the consent agenda as presented. Second by Councilperson Porter. The motion carried, 9 ayes, 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone Nays: None. 9. Mr. Herrera reported the results of the joint auction held with the City of Deer Park on July 30th. Total proceeds were $80,228 of which the City of La Porte took $55,923, and the City of Deer Park took the remaining $24,305. La Porte's $55,923 will be redeposited into the General Fund and the Motor Pool Fund. Mr. Herrera reminded Council about the upcoming Workshops on the City Budget. Director of Finance Jeff Litchfield passed out copies of the Budget to each Councilperson. The Workshops will start Monday, August 15th.
