<br />Minutes Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />August 8, 1994, Page 3 <br />City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 94-1994 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN OPTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY <br />OF LA PORTE AND HAROLD P. PFEIFFER, FOR THE. PURCHASE BY THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE OF TWO TRACTS OF LAND FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES; <br />MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE <br />SUBJECT; FINDING. COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson McLaughlin to approve <br />Ordinance 94-1994 as read by the City Attorney. Second by <br />Councilperson Thrower. The motion carried, 8 ayes, 0 nays, <br />and one abstain. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilperson Porter <br />8. Council considered a consent agenda as follows: (A) Consider <br />declaring Four Alarm Fire Equipment as a single source vendor <br />for Hale Products for the purchase of Hurst Hydraulic Rescue <br />Equipment; (B) Consider awarding a bid to Casco Industries, <br />Inc., for a triple combination pumper apparatus;. (C) Consider <br />awarding a bid for aerial mapping to Aerial Viewpoint; (D) <br />Consider awarding a bid for the annual contract for supply of <br />street materials. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Clarke to approve the consent <br />agenda as presented. Second by Councilperson Porter. The <br />motion carried, 9 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Sutherland, Cooper, Thrower, <br />McLaughlin, Porter, Gay, Maxwell, Clarke and Mayor <br />Malone <br />Nays: None. <br />9. Mr. Herrera reported the results of the joint auction held <br />with the City of Deer Park on July 30th. Total proceeds were <br />$80,228 of which the City of La Porte took $55,923, and the <br />City of Deer Park took the remaining $24,305. La Porte's <br />$55,923 will be redeposited into the General Fund and the <br />Motor Pool Fund. <br />Mr. Herrera reminded Council about the upcoming Workshops on <br />the City Budget. Director of Finance Jeff Litchfield passed <br />out copies of the Budget to each Councilperson. The Workshops <br />will start Monday, August 15th. <br />
